About Squash In The Isle Of Man
Welcome to the new Isle of Man Squash Rackets Association website, (IOMSRA).
Squash has been played on the Isle of Man since the late 70’s and has in the past held tournaments and competitions which have attracted many of the world’s top squash players.
Squash and Racketball is a great way to get and stay fit. Squash has on many occasions been voted as the world’s most healthiest sport, giving the very nature of the game proven not only to be an excellent cardiovascular but also fantastic for stamina, flexibility and acceleration.
The Isle of Man whilst it currently has a shortage of courts and facilities by comparison to other similar islands and nations. It does have a very active squash community and is also a great way to meet new friends as well as get fit and healthy through sport. The IOMSRA have well qualified coaches as well as some very good players who can cater for players, whether junior, senior or the social player who wish to get involved.
The Isle of Man Squash Rackets Association was founded in 1988 and its primary purpose is to administer, organise, develop and promote the sport on the Isle of Man for players of all standards and abilities.
The IOMSRA is also a member club of England Squash and for administrative purposes comes under Merseyside. It is also a member of the European Squash Federation since 2002 as well as the Common Wealth Games Association of the Isle of Man.
