Island Junior squash players competed in the Spring Junior Ranking Tournament on Saturday 17th March.

The closest match of the first round was between Vinn Vogel and James Hennessey, with the higher seeded Vogel just coming out on top. In the next round of matches the closest encounter was between Asad Awan and Ben Leith, with the latter winning 15-13 in a very tight match. Other matches went with seeding, with higher seeds Christian Webster, Oliver Wait and Emma Leith all progressing to the next round by beating Cai Lewis, Deniz Yenituran and Thomas Gray respectively.

Northwest Regional Racketball closed 2018

The Northwest regional closed Squash 57 (Racketball) championships will be held at Liverpool cricket club on Sunday the 13th May 2018 a one day event . CONGRATULATIONS TO ‘OLIVER WAIT’ - PLAYER OF THE MONTH FOR MARCH 2018

Oliver Wait of the Junior Academy is POM (Player of the Month) for March 2018, he has improved his ranking points by over 33% which is quite an achievement. Good wins in the IOM Championships and in the league have raised his playing position to number 1 for his team. The second place went to Mason McLarney who enjoyed a 26.6% increase in his playing level, in accomplishing this Mason worked his way to number 10 in the IOMSRA Rankings table. Third placed is Nic Kieswetter who is adding consistency to his game as he had 2 very good wins over high calibre opponents in March.

AON BEAT DIVERS IN ANOTHER CLOSE A LEAGUE ENCOUNTER

In the IOMSRA A League this week, the match between Team AON and International Divers Team lived up to its billing as a close encounter with AON winning 224-212. At three AON's Jason Crease beat Lyndon 3-1 and at number one Diver's Dave Norman fresh from his victory in the Island Championships beat Robin Crease 3-0.
