IOMSRA Division B - First Half of Season Report

22 Dec 2016

‘Island Exhausts’ have a very experienced but ageing squad. However they have recruited some relatively younger players this season in the guise of Mike O’Brien and Mark Stratford. The team has yet again been the team to beat with the experience of Gary Crease, Peter Sharpies and Les Callow proving invaluable. They have won all 8 of their matches and top the table. Can they maintain this unbeaten record from Weeks 11 to 20 or will they come unstuck to a younger team? Congratulations to ‘Island Exhausts’ though as they remain one of only 2 teams that have been unbeaten this season.

IOMSRA Division C - First Half of Season Report

22 Dec 2016

Division C winners for the 1st Half of the season are ‘The Falcons’. This team have won Division C for the last 2 seasons and could make it a hat trick. They have lost some of last seasons better players to the Sharks in Division B. However Ian Barnes has joined the team after a seasons break from squash, he is a very good number 1 player. Calum Baker at number 2 is improving all the time, the rankings highlight him as the most improved player over the last calendar year. Jon Cox and former ‘Shark’ Blake Ronald also add to the strength of the team.

IOMSRA Division A - First Half of Season Report

21 Dec 2016

Topping the table and 1st Half winners are ‘Team AON’. This team is new to the league this season and mainly comprises players who have learned their squash here on the island through the junior squash development program. They have been away to university but returned back to the Rock having developed their squash whilst across, they are having a real impact in the league. They played 8 matches and won 5 of the 8 matches played. Jason Crease, Mason McLarney and Chris Cave have put in some fine performances for the team.
